Dannette Photography, a local boudoir studio, is pleased to announce Valentine’s Day Boudoir Minis, a marathon day of photography filled with special photo sessions, pricing and discounts. The boudoir minis will be held on January 26, 2019, with the 30-minute time slots beginning at 9:00 a.m.
Boudoir photography has gained popularity in recent years as women want to be captured in front of the camera in an elegant, intimate and body-positive light. Most women will do a photoshoot in lingerie but some choose other options, such as a pair of jeans, a skirt or even a partner’s button-up shirt.
The January 26 event is meant to be a fun, playful boudoir photo shoot for those looking to give a gift to a partner for Valentine’s Day or to celebrate with girlfriends for the ever-growing “Galentine’s Day”. The special includes a 30-minute photography session, professional makeup application, a retouched 8x10 print with a corresponding web file and additional discounts on keepsake collections. “The Valentine’s Day Boudoir Minis will give women who have time or budget restrictions an opportunity to experience a smaller session at an affordable rate,” says April Courville, studio owner and photographer.
Courville says there is a common misconception that boudoir photography is racy. “The studio focus has always been about empowering women to feel good about themselves in their own skin. If that’s a lacy bra set, that’s great. If it’s a pretty robe, that works too.” She says many clients will book a session to celebrate reaching a fitness goal or to celebrate a milestone after a difficult experience. “A lot of women are looking to regain confidence after having kids or going through a rough divorce. But on the other hand, a boudoir session is a fun experience.”
